Terms Of Service
to know before commissioning
SAIKAfurlab, owned by Alessia Caiazzo (referred to as “Saika” or “the maker”), offers the design and sale of costumes (referred to as “the fursuit(s)” or “the suit(s)”), handcrafted and customized following original character designs (referred to as “fursona” or “sona”), on a commission basis. The following Terms of Service establish and standardize the way the service is provided for all customers (also referred to as “the clients”), defining the time frames in which commission requests can be made (referred to as “commission opening(s),” “reopening(s)”). By deciding to proceed with the order and purchase of a costume or individual parts thereof, the following Terms and Conditions shall be deemed to be accepted in their entirety.
1.1 If you’re allergic to dogs and cats, it’s best for your health not to commission me! If you’re allergic to chalk and similar substances do the same!
1.2 I can’t accept commission request from minors of 18 years old.
2.1 The commission process start by applying to the google form ”QUOTE REQUEST” provided at the time of commission opening. By applying to it you’re automatically agreeing to my Terms Of Service.
2.2 Once the quote request is sent and you’re the lucky one receiving the completed quote, a confirmation e-mail is needed within 24h stating if you want to deny or continue with the next step.
2.3 Last step consist in securing the slot by sending the 40% of the total quote upfront. Once the first payment is received consider your commission accepted! Last thing to do is start working on it.
2.4 I consider some details parts of my design and because of that cannot be removed/changes, they are: the lips on the corner of the mouth, pickable nose and the triangles lighting points in the eye.
2.5 I only work with toony style, any requests for other style will be ignored.
2.6 I don’t use airbrush, so I can’t do soft markings and shades of colors, but I can try by doing some hard gradient with solid color furs.
2.7 I will not accept request if the design is clearly been stole. I am not responsible if I don’t recognize a stolen design, especially if I have no way of knowing about it.
2.8 I’m not willing to make fursuits of characters that aren’t owned by the client.
2.9 I don’t make fursuit for sexual purposes (murrsuit), since I don’t assure no allergic reaction for intimate parts that comes in contact with the fur.
3.1 Warranty lasts one year after successful delivery. If the client or anyone else alters the product in any way, warranty is voided. The warranty will be canceled if the commission is used for sexual acts
3.2 If the finished product is defective or it has been damaged during shipping, I am available to fix it free of charge during the warranty period.
3.3 In case the damage happens when the warranty is expired, I can fix the damaged part for a cost that depends on the type of damage.
3.4 I can’t be held responsible of wrong measures given by the client, please make sure they’re correct.
3.5 I can’t be held responsible of damages caused by the shipping company. I am not in control of eventual custom fees either.
3.6 The warranty DOES NOT cover wrong measures communicated by the client, in order to fix it an extra charge is required
3.7 The warranty will be voided in the following cases:
4.1 I work and will communicate only in day time (Italy times UTC+1)
4.2 All communications regarding the project will have to be made via written messages, so if you ask for something by voice message it will be ignored as long as it is not requested in a written message.
4.3 The following confirmations must to be communicated via e-mail: payment confirmation, confirmations regarding materials and confirmations regarding any changes to be made to the original project. It will be possible to agree on other message systems (Telegram, Messenger, etc), but the final confirmation will have to be presented via private e-mail.
4.4 During the commission process you will be updated with photos and concept drawings, so that you can provide feedback and ask for changes.
4.5 If a detail or shape does not convince you and you want to change it please point it out at the time of the projection. Regarding the base of the head you will receive a sketch before its creation, same for the position of the pattern design. In case you want to change the latter it is better to point it out at the time of pattern creation and not when all the fur pieces have already been cut. In case the change is requested after the work is finished or when that part has been installed, a charge will be made based on the amount of work done on the piece to be changed
4.6 It may happen that by requesting a change it is necessary to purchase new materials, so the price may vary from what was originally established. This may also happen if there was an error on my part in calculating the quantity of materials, in which case the expense of the missing materials will always be settled by the customer.
4.7 In case the work slows down exponentially due to too many change requests, a new rate will be added.
4.8 Any changes suggested by me or the customer once tested must be clearly approved before final installation. In case the test of the change or test of a certain detail was originally approved but at a later time there is a change request on that installed piece, there will be a price increase
4.9 I assure you that I will show enough pictures let you see the progress during the work, so that in case you’re concern about some details we can discuss it live.
5.1 Any price quote you receive on a project is valid up until the next commission opening. If the related project isn’t commissioned during that opening and you’re still interested in commissioning it in the future, an updated quote is needed.
5.2 You can submit any quote request as you want, as long as the design of the character changes. You can only do this when opening commissions, this means that by requesting a quote you are also willing on commissioning me.
5.3 In case you receive the complete quote it means that you was choose for that commission row and if you’re willing on proceeding with commissioning and securing the slot all you need to do is reply to the quote with a confirmation,
5.4 In case there is no confirmation within 24h you will be discarded and a new quote will be sent to a new submitter.
5.5 Requests for quotes can only be sent when commissions are reopened. By requesting a quote, the customer then attests to the possibility of being able to finalize the payment in a short period, in accordance with 6.1 and 6.2.
6.1 It is possible to request installment payments of up to 3. The first installment (40% non-refundable retainer fee) will be required as a down payment, since it is needed to confirm the commission and secure in the slot along purchasing all the materials. The rest of the installments will have to be paid at the start of work. The commission will be sent only after the payment is completed.
6.2 Anything regarding the payment method will be agreed upon in private.
6.3 The commission will be considered fully accepted only after the first payment has been completed and a slot in the queue will be assured.
6.4 The finished product will be shipped to the owner only after the full payment has been completed.
6.5 The customer must give information regarding the provider of the payment in the commission form. It is necessary to specify whether the person making the payment and the client are two distinct people or the same person.
7.1 If you changed your mind and want to cancel the commission, I won’t be able to refund you fully in order to cover the time already spent on the project and the materials that have already been purchased. Purchased furs will not be sent to the customer unless explicitly requested. As for bases already started, even if requestes it won’t be sent to the client.
